Karnataka news – Sertari

November 24, 2018

More exciting news for Karnataka this week when we announced our new lead vocalist ~ Sertari.

Anglo-Cypriot singer-songwriter Sertari entranced us with her beautiful vocals in the audition; there was an immediate chemistry and it was clear we all shared the same musical vision. We loved the way she interpreted the songs, respecting the original versions whilst adding her own feel and emotion, sprinkling the sound with that extra bit of magic. It was very obvious to us that she was a perfect match for the band. Sertari’s own diverse musical influences include Nightwish, Kate Bush, Led Zeppelin and Florence + the Machine to name a few, so we already shared the same musical DNA. .

Sertari’s successful solo career has seen her charting in both the UK and Europe and winning the Akademia “Singer/Songwriter” award for her Unplugged EP. She recently released her new EP “Bright Star” featuring Grammy award winner J- Ivy.

Sertari is an Official Ableton artist.

It’s the start of an exciting new chapter for the band, a spark that ignites a new flame.

“I am so excited to be part of Karnataka, I became an instant fan listening to all the songs. It was great to sing some of the songs for the group and really happy that they liked what I did on the day. I am looking forward to the future and being part of Karnataka and journey ahead”. Sertari

Karnataka news – Luke Machin

November 24, 2018

It was great to announce this week that guitarist Luke Machin has teamed up with Karnataka as a special guest for future tours and recording. Luke’s stunning playing recently elevated him into the Prog Magazine Best Guitarist poll top ten alongside guitar legends Steve Hackett, Steve Rothery and Guthrie Govan. He’s also shared the stage with Jeff Beck, Francis Dunnery, Pain of Salvation and Robert Plant. Luke’s own band Maschine were winners of Prog Magazines ‘Best New Band’ readers’ poll and The Classic Rock Society‘s ‘Best New Band’ award’.
Luke has been working with Agnieszka and myself on our debut Illuminae album. He’s a superb player who combines great muscianship with a sympathetic ear for the song arrangement and production and has really helped add an extra dimension to the album. I’m really looking forward to working with Luke in Karnataka.

ILLUMINAE album update

November 1, 2018

It’s been a very busy summer recording and producing the debut Illuminae album – the new project featuring myself and Agnieszka Swita. All the recording is now finished and I’m currently working on some post production before we start mixing the album. You’ll have read in previous news items that we have some amazing special guests playing on the album – Steve Hackett, Craig Blundell, Troy Donockley, Luke Machin and Gonzalo Carrera. The album is set for release in early 2019 and we’ll be announcing further details towards the end of the year. In the meantime I’ll keep you posted on the mixing.
