REQUIEM FOR A DREAM – THE NEW KARNATAKA ALBUM

We are very excited to announce the release of our new studio album Requiem For A Dream on June 5th 2023, World Environment Day. Featuring eight stunning new songs, the lavishly produced new album also includes our most ambitious track to date, the 25 minute epic, ‘Requiem For A Dream’.  

”The album explores themes of personal adversity, loss, despair and forgiveness, experienced through the prism of global chaos, climate change and environmental destruction.” says Ian & Sertari. ”A beautiful world slowly dying and tinged with fear, yet grasping for hope.  We are reminded of the fragility of Sagan’s unique ‘pale blue dot’ floating in a vast ocean of stars. We are dancing in the rain. This is our requiem for a dream.“

The timeless qualities of the band’s sound are captured in this lush, multi-layered, symphonic production; mysterious, haunting and beautiful, yet epic in scope and embracing sonic ambition.

The album features the beautiful uilleann pipes and low whistle of special guest and long-term band collaborator, Troy Donockley from global phenomenon, Nightwish.

The album was mixed by Joe Gibb, highly regarded as a world class engineer who has worked with many prestigious artists including Massive Attack, The Cure and Leftfield.

Requiem For A Dream is released on World Environment Day June 5^th 2023

New KARNATAKA album mixing

It’s been a busy time post-Karnataka tour putting the finishing touches to the new Karnataka album production and starting the mixing stage with long time Karnataka collaborator, Joe Gibb.

I’ve also been working on all the new album artwork for the various release formats. Exciting to see the finishing line! Stay tuned for more news soon!

Excited to be finally hitting the road again with our KARNATAKA on our New Dawn Rising Tour MMXXII starting on March 27th in Southampton. Additional dates have been added with the band confirmed to headline the Friday of the Prog for Peart Festival on July 1st at The Northcourt in Abingdon. The band will also headline the final day of the Soundle Weekend Festival on Oct 2. Continuing with the festival news, the band have also been confirmed for the A New Day Festival on Aug 20.
